The Rockland County Grand Prix will recognize and reward the top runners in the county based on varied distances and terrains. Three qualified RRR Races and two qualified NYRR Races will be counted towards the total Grand Prix score.

Rules and Scoring

To qualify, the runner must complete the following within the calendar year:

  • Must be a current RRR Member
  • Must volunteer for one RRR activity
  • Best 3 out of 4 official RRR races are scored
  • Best 2 out of 9 NYRR Team Scored events (MUST be registered as Team RRR with NYRR)

Points are given based on finishing times based on the top male and female times in each category of the race. Top male and female score 100 points. For other places, a discount factor is applied as 100-(finish time – Winning time)/(Winning time)*100.

For example:
Winning time = 18:30
John Doe’s time = 22:15

Winner gets 100 points

John Doe gets:
100-(22:15-18:30)/18:30*100 =>
100 – 3.75/18.5 * 100 =>
100 – .2027*100 =>
100-20.27 =>
79.73 points
