Driving directions to Silvermine Picnic Area: Palisades Interstate Parkway NORTH towards Central Valley (stay left). At the traffic circle (also known as Long Mountain circle), go 3/4 around the circle and turn into 7 lakes drive. Go 1.5 miles and on your left is the parking entrance.

Helpful hints:

  • Restroom facilities and water fountain at Tiorati Circle (when park is open)
  • Abundant parking and restroom facilities at Lake Welch and Lake Sebago (when park is open), but parking fee is required. Parking at Tiorati Circle also requires a fee. NYS Empire parking pass is valid.
  • Note roads which close in the winter months (marked on map)
  • Drop off water as needed along route and/or carry water

Route #1: Silvermine – Arden Valley Road: Distance: 18 miles Difficult and Very hilly on Arden Valley Road. Save something for the return trip. Parking and Start: Silvermine Picnic Area

Keep an eye out for this sign. There are a couple of other similar signs before this one. 2.9 11.5
[6] Return to Silvermine via the same route 8.5 20

Route #3: Silvermine – Route 106: Distance: 19.8 miles Moderate. Long rolling hills with a steeper uphill on Route 106. Parking and Start: Silvermine Picnic Area

Route #4: Silvermine – Harriman Triathlon Loop: Distance: 18.7 miles Moderate to Difficult. Long rolling hills with a long climb on Tiorati Brook Road. Parking and Start: Silvermine Picnic Area
