Is Pre-Race Registration and Race Packet Pickup available?

Yes! We have had record numbers of participants in recent years, making race-day registration impractical. As of 2014, you have three ways to enter the Turkey Trot: Online, by mail, or in person either Monday, Nov. 24; Tuesday, Nov. 25; or Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 12 noon - 8:00pm at Modell's 2nd Floor, Palisades Center Mall (west end of mall). Race packet pickup for online and mail registrants is also available on those dates at Modell's. We've made it easy and convenient to enter. Come join us!

What time should I arrive at the race?

Because of parking issues, it is highly recommended that you arrive NO LATER than 7:30 AM.

Are shirts available to all pre-registrants?

We will have shirts for all who register online or by mail before November 20. For registrants at Modell's on the 24th, 25th and 26th, shirts will be available on a first-come, first served basis.

Can I purchase a shirt on race day?

No. It's not that we wouldn't love to take in a few more dollars for the charities we support, but we simply don't have extra shirts. Again, if you must have a shirt, please register by November 20.

Do you allow walkers in the race?

Yes! In fact, we have families who have made it an annual tradition to come and walk with us Thanksgiving morning. Walkers pay the same entry fees, and receive the same amenities as runners: shirts to pre-registrants, refreshments, race packets, and the satisfaction of helping local Rockland charities.

Is there a separate start for walkers?

No, so we ask that walkers stand toward the rear of the start area to allow runners to start unimpeded, and for everyone to start safely.

Are there awards for competitive walkers?

No. There is no separate walker scoring category.

If I walk the course, must I wear a chip?

Yes! Because the Turkey Trot is a USATF certified event, all participants must wear a scoring chip. We are now using B-Tag scoring chips which are part of your race number. Nothing needs to be attached to your shoe.
Click for B-Tag instructions.

When can I see my results?

Printouts of Turkey Trot race results are posted at the event as soon as they become available from the scoring computers, so stick around a while after you finish. If you must get home to put the turkey in the oven, complete results will be posted here the following day. We'd love to run home from the race and post them immediately for you, but we didn't think you'd mind if we enjoy the rest of our Thanksiving Day with family, friends, and turkeys of our own!
