Review
The Rincon isn’t just supremely cushioned. It’s also seriously fast.
The upper on the Rincon is light and breathable with wide webbing under the sheer top layer. The mesh moves and cradles the foot without rubbing. The lacing is unattached tongue protects the top of your foot from the flat laces.
A softly padded collar and rigid heel counter finish off the upper in comfort. A nice feature that HOKA includes on this shoes is the generous pull loop on the rear of the shoe.
The big serving of foam underfoot makes each step feels lightweight and smooth. The tongue is perfect and secured. You crank up the pace without thinking about the big shoes beneath your feet.Your have enough cushion that they would provide plenty of protection for a long run.
The firmer feel pairs well with a featherweight upper, making it good for light speedwork, but there’s also enough foam in there to stand up to.
Conclusion
I like the Rincon for its lightweight, minimal upper that makes it well-suited for hot and humid summertime runs, and I love the firm, responsive stack of foam underfoot for speed days and long runs. Rincon performs well enough that I feel confident that it’ll be a solid option whether you’re a seasonal runner or a runners that’s looking for comfort. It feel efficient whether you’re jogging around the block, doing intervals on a treadmill, or doing a long run.
