Work has begun on the new Tappan Zee Bridge. The bridge will have a shared-use promenade walkway that is expected to be popular with runners, bikers, walkers and other fitness enthusiasts. There are questions about pedestrian access to the promenade, and to address those issues a public meeting has been set for Wednesday, June 19, 7 p.m., at the Nyack Center, 58 Depew Avenue, at the corner of South Broadway and Depew in Nyack. Brian Conybeare, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s community liaison on the bridge project, and other representatives will be on hand to offer a presentation and answer questions regarding the project. Come learn more about this pending new addition to our fitness options in Rockland.
