It was Anthony Modafferi, James Meyers, and Jonathan Farrell at Randall’s Island on Tuesday, July 9 representing RRR at Icahn Stadium. This edition of NYRR Tuesday Night Speed Series offered competition in 5000m, 400m, 800m, and distance medley relay (1200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m).

This first event was 5000m which saw Jonathan Farrell at the line. The hot temps and blazing sun dominated the track on another warm summer evening. Jonathan started strong but faded a bit as the heat blazed on through the 12.5 laps. He was still able to come through with a strong finish of 18:40.

The third event of the evening, 800m, had some relief as storm clouds rolled in but the humidity remained. Anthony Modafferi and James Meyers both competed in 800m heats.

James was first to take the track. At the gun he went out strong with the lead pack during the first heat. He stayed strong through the race and was able to maintain for a 3rd place finish and a time of 2:00.

Anthony took the track next for his 800m heat. He fell victim to some pushing and shoving at the start but was able to recoup and come back with 61 seconds at the halfway mark and strong 2:10 finish.

There were no RRR runners in the 400m or distance medley relay.
