Rockland Road Runners member and Nanuet resident Caitrin Demchko made her marathon debut in Arlington, VA on Sunday at the 38th Annual Marine Corps Marathon. Demchko finished the 26.2-mile run in 3:07:48, a pace of 7:09 per mile. Demchko’s time earned her third place in the female 20-24 division. The rookie marathoner has dominated the female division in Rockland area races this past season with wins at the Tunnel To Towers 5k, South Nyack 10 miler, Women’s Distance Festival 5k, and Bill Fortune 10k, amongst others.

This year’s race had 23,480 finishers, which is the second largest participation in the race’s history.

Rockland Road Runners had six other members finish the marathon, including our marathon regulars “Marathon Mike” Nusblat and JC Santa Teresa.

Another great showing by RRR! On to NYC!
