Millions of people stroll the sidewalks and streets of New York City to shop, go to school and get to work. Walking the city is one of the pleasures of living in and visiting New York. If you are a pedestrian in New York, you should be alert at all times to collision risks. It’s important to know the locations of New York’s most hazardous intersections for pedestrians and to be aware that certain times of day are more dangerous for being struck by a vehicle.

A newly constructed tool allows for walkers and runners in New York to easily depict which intersections are busiest/most dangerous by time of day. Its very interactive, and is extremely useful for runners and walkers throughout the city to have access to. The data is depicted visually using a heatmap, which outlines the most dangerous areas very easily.
